Scrapbooking Tutorial #3 Instructions

These Scrapbooking Tutorials are very Long - so remember to set your Timer to have regular Breaks or save your images we are building as a .psp image often and then you can always do the tutorial over a day or two instead of at one sitting

We will make all our components for the Scrapbook Page first. We will save each component as a .psp image as we go - so that we will have it to use again and again in different projects -

and also so that you can spread this Tutorial over a few sittings if you want to and you will not have to remake them all the time.

CORD - Let's make a Picture Tube that produces a length of Cord.

  1. Open a New Image ( Ctrl + N ) > 50(W) x 50(H) Pixels; Resolution 100.000 Pixels/Inch; Raster Background; Color Depth - 8 bits/channel (ie: In old PSP versions 16million(24bit) ); Colour - Transparent Checked>OK.
  2. View>Zoom in - Do this 4 times - As it makes doing the next steps easier .
  3. Click on your Paint Brush Tool ( B ) >Shape Round; Size 12; Hardness 25; Step 10; Density & Thickness 100; Rotation 0; Opacity 100; Blend Mode Normal; Continuous & Wet Look Paint both Unchecked.

  5. Now left click once only on your image just a wee tad to the left of the centre point - then - left click once more just to the right of the centre point so that the 2 dots end up with the feathered edges overlapping, but so that you can just see a bit of separation between the darkest areas - as in the image below
image magnified up to show the placement of the 2 dots
  6. Effects>3dEffects>Drop Shadow>Offset - Vertical +3; Horizontal -1; Opacity 50%; Blur 0; Shadow on New Layer Unchecked; Right click on the wee color swatch and select Black>OK.
