- Open your Image that you are going to use for your strip in PSP and if necessary Increase its color depth to RGB8bit/channel( Ctrl + Shift + 0 )In PSP7 and earlier versions this is 16million(24bit).
- Image>Add Borders>Symmetric Unchecked; Top, Right and Bottom all 0; Left 3;Left click on the wee colour swatch and select any colour not in your image>OK.
I am doing it this way because I want both sides of borders to look identical - and if I do both sides at the same time one looks slightly different to the other due to light angles
- Select you Floodfill Tool ( F )>Match Mode RGBValue; Use All Layers Checked or Unchecked does not matter as there is only one layer; Blend Mode Normal; Opacitry 100.
- Materials Palette> Click on the wee button underneath the foreground colour swatch and select pattern; then Left click on the Foreground colour swatch To open the Materials Palette dialogue box> from the drop down menu select the goldenbeads pattern you saved or another small pattern of your choice; Angle 0; Scale for this pattern 100 or to suit to make your pattern choice repeats small scale; Texture Unchecked>OK.
- Left click inside of the new border to floodfill it with this pattern
- Image>Add Borders>Change Left to 5 and Right to 0; Rest of settings as before>OK.
- Select your Magic Wand Tool>Mode Replace; Match Mode RGB Value; Tolerance 0; Use all layers and Contiguous both Checked; Feather 0; Anti-alias Unchecked.
- Left click inside the new left border to select it.
- Select you Floodfill Tool ( F )>Same settings as before.
- Materials Palette> Click on the wee button underneath the background colour swatch and select pattern; then Left click on the Background colour swatch To open the Materials Palette dialogue box> from the drop down menu select the goldlady pattern you saved or another medium sized pattern of your choice; Angle 0 or 45 to have the pattern going corner to corner; Scale for this pattern 100 or to suit to make your pattern choice repeats medium scale; Texture Unchecked>OK.
- Right click inside the selected border to floodfill it with this 2nd pattern
- Effects>3dEffect>Inner Bevel>Bevel #1 (Column 1 Row 1); Width and Depth both 3; Smoothness, Ambience and Shininess all 0; Angle 315; Intensity 40; Elevation 33; Right click on the wee colour swatch and select white>OK.
- Selections>Select None ( Ctrl + D ).

- Image>Add Borders>Change Left to 8 and Right to 0; Rest of settings as before>OK.
- Select your Magic Wand Tool>Settings as before.
- Left click inside the new left border to select it.
- Select you Floodfill Tool ( F )>Same settings as before.
- Right click inside the selected border to floodfill it with this 2nd pattern
- Effects>3dEffect>Inner Bevel>Bevel #6 (Column 2 Row 2); Change width to 8; all other settings as before.
- Selections>Select None ( Ctrl + D ).

- Image>Add Borders>Change Left to 13 and Right to 0; Rest of settings as before>OK.
- Select your Magic Wand Tool>Settings as before.
- Left click inside the new left border to select it.
- Select you Floodfill Tool ( F )>Same settings as before.
- Right click inside the selected border to floodfill it with this 2nd pattern
- Effects>3dEffect>Inner Bevel>Bevel #12 (Column 4 Row 3); Change width to 11; all other settings as before.
- Selections>Select None ( Ctrl + D ).

- Effects>Image Effects>Seamless Tiling>Tiling Method - Edge; Direction - Vertical; width 52; transition 100>OK.

- Image>Canvas Size>Lock Aspect Ratio Unchecked; Height New Dimension is same as Original Height; Width of New Dimension Add 29pixels(Width of our borders) to the original height; Placement - Click on the left pointing arrow To have the new area to the right side of our image>OK.
- With Selection Tool ( S ) the active tool - On the Tool settings bar click on the Custom selection button A black dotted square inside a white dotted square>Top and Left both 0; Make the bottom the pixel height of the Image; Right 29pixels Which is the width of all the borders we added>OK.
- Selections>Promote selection to a layer.
- Selections>Select None ( Ctrl + D ).
- Image>Mirror ( Ctrl + M )
- Layers>Merge>Merge Visible.

- Layers> New Raster Layer.
- Add watermark.
- Layers>Merge>Merge All(Flatten).
- NOW LET'S CREATE OUR NARROW STRIP
Click on the Selector Tool ( S )>Selection Type - Rectangle; Mode - Replace; Feather 0; Anti-alias Unchecked; Now click on the Custom Seletion button A black dotted square inside a white dotted square> Top 0; Left 10; Right 50; Bottom 239>OK.Note: Settings are only a guideline
- Edit>Copy ( Ctrl + C ).
- Edit>Paste as New Image ( Ctrl + Shift+V ) or ( Ctrl + V )Depending on version of PSP.
- Image>Canvas Size>Losk Aspect Ratio - Unchecked; New Dimensions - Width is double the original width; Height is same as original width; Placement - Click on the Left pointing arrow to have your image sit on the leftside of the new canvas with a transparent area to the right of it
- Layers>Duplicate.
- Image>Mirror.
- Layers>Merge>Merge Visible.

- Layers> New Raster Layer.
- Add watermark.
- Layers>Merge>Merge All(Flatten).
